Getting Started
  1. What are Mogreets?
Mogreets are Mobile Video Messages that allow you to express yourself with far more sentiment, humor, and emotion than you can with an ordinary text message. You get the personalization of a normal text message along with a cool video message. You no longer need to express yourself with CAPS LOCK, emoticons :), or exclamation points!!!

  2. How do I send a Mogreet?
Sending a Mogreet is easy. Browse greetings.mogreet.com and find the Mogreet Mobile Video Message you want to send. Fill out the send form, check the terms box, and click send.

After you click send on the website, we will send you a text message to confirm you want to send the Mogreet. All you need to do is reply Y to this message and your Mogreet will be sent.

  3. Why do I, the sender, have to reply Y before each send?
This is for your protection and to prevent fraud. By confirming each send, you are proving that the send is coming from you, and not someone else trying to use your phone number.

  4. Does the person receiving a Mogreet have to opt in?
In some cases yes. If the person receiving the Mogreet has never sent or received a Mogreet before, they will get a message telling them to reply Y to the shortcode. Once they do this, their Mogreet will be delivered to them. They will only have to do this once.

  5. What is a shortcode?
A shortcode is basically just the name for a short, usually 5 digit, phone number. In other words, when we say to text something to the shortcode, all we are saying is to write the shortcode number in place of where you would normally write in a phone number.

Mogreet Basics
  1. How long will it take for someone to receive a Mogreet I send to them?
Just like a normal text message, Mogreets will be delivered to the recipient's phone within minutes. During peak mobile traffic hours it may take a little longer.

  2. Do I get charged for the Reply Y messages as either the sender or receiver?
No. We do not charge you for responding to the opt-in messages.

  3. If I don't want to receive a Mogreet someone sends to me, can I choose not to accept it?
Yes, you can choose not to accept a Mogreet sent to you. If you do not want to receive a Mogreet, just don't download it or open it.

If you would prefer not to receive any Mogreets, you can reply STOP to shortcode 21534 and we will block your number from receiving Mogreets. If you would prefer to stop receiving Mogreets from a single individual, please text BLOCK with the cell number you wish to block. Ex: BLOCK 5551234567.

  4. Am I charged for undelivered Mogreets?
You will NOT be charged for undelivered Mogreets. That wouldn't be fair.

  5. How does someone know if a Mogreet is from me?
The easiest thing to do is to fill in your name in the Your Name box on the send form. You can also include your name in the personal message. For instance, you could write Just wanted you to know I am thinking of you! Love, Monica.

  6. Do I get a status report once the person has received my Mogreet?
After the person you sent a Mogreet to receives it, you will get a text message showing the charge that will show up on your phone bill. This is just a reminder notice that you can delete if you want. (no point in filling up your message inbox with receipts).

  7. What if I send a Mogreet to a person who has a phone that cannot receive it?
No worries. If the person you are sending a Mogreet to has a phone that cannot receive it, we will deliver a message telling them their phone is not capable of receiving Mogreets along with a web address for them to view the video on their computer. We will not not charge you if this happens.

  8. How do I pay for a Mogreet?
Charges for your Mogreets will show up on your monthly cell phone bill automatically. This means you never have to enter your personal information or credit card number on our website. How convenient is that?!

My Mogreets
  1. Can I create my own Mogreets?

  2. Do Mogreets ever expire once I get them?
Nope! The Mogreets you get on your phone do NOT expire. They aren't like ringtones you download and then expire after 60 days. No, my friend, your Mogreets will stay on your phone for as long as you decide to keep them there.

  3. How much memory will each Mogreet take up on my phone?
Each Mogreet is different, but we work hard to keep the files small in size. In general, they range from 75kb to 120kb. How many Mogreets you can store on your phone depends on how much memory your phone has and how much external memory you've added to it.

  4. Once I receive a Mogreet, where does it get stored on my phone?
This depends on your phone and carrier. Verizon and Alltel customers will get their Mogreets in an MMS message in their message inbox.

For customers not on Alltel, Sprint, or Verizon Wireless, where your Mogreets get stored depends on what type of phone you have. Generally, Mogreets are stored in a multimedia or video folder. Some are labeled as My Movies, Flix, or Videos. Some phones will allow you to choose where you want to save a Mogreet.

Technical Questions
  1. Do I need a data package to receive a Mogreet?
Not at all. You can get a Mogreet with or without a data package. However, if you do not have a data package you will be charged normal carrier data rates if you have to download a Mogreet. This is usually about one and a half cents per kilobyte.

Alltel, Sprint, & Verizon Wireless customers will get their Mogreets like a normal picture or video message in their inbox, so there is no data charge.
